Outward Bound Canada is an Ontario Ministry of Education inspected Independent School, and a provider of External Credits in British Colombia. We offer students 15-years-old or older the opportunity to earn high school credits upon successful completion of most Outward Bound Canada courses of 15 days or longer. That means youth can earn credit while canoeing in Algonquin Park, hiking the Rocky Mountains, kayaking in the Bay of Fundy or camping on Toronto Islands. Furthermore, because most of our courses also include a “give-back” service project, students are eligible to apply these hours to their compulsory community involvement requirement for Ontario high school graduation. To find High School Credit courses, you can search for those specifically using our Course Finder.
Credits obtained through Outward Bound Canada courses are in many cases transferrable to schools outside of Ontario (e.g. in other provinces), subject to the school’s acceptance. Please discuss credit transfer with the guidance counselor at your school.
Inspected and approved by the Ontario Ministry of Education, our current high school credit options include:
If you are an educator or organization with a group interested in a custom High School Credit course, Outward Bound Canada is happy to collaborate with you. Please visit our Custom Urban or Custom Wilderness program pages for details and appropriate contact information.
