ABOUT THE COURSE

Run in collaboration with Wilderness Medical Associates, This 4-day course is designed for graduates of the Wilderness Advanced First Aid who want to continue their training and upgrade their certification to the Wilderness First Responder level. This course may be used as a recertification for those holding a current WFR certification or equivalent from another provider whose original WFR training was at least 64 hours in length. This comprehensive course will review concepts learned in earlier courses and build on previous knowledge to cover a new range of wilderness medical issues. A review package will be sent to students prior to the course in order for them to come prepared to this intense and stimulating course. For a sample course outline please click here.

PLEASE NOTE: THE COURSE RUNNING APRIL 26-29, COMBINED WITH THE WAFA RUNNING APRIL 19-22, CONSTITUTES A FULL WILDERNESS FIRST RESPONDER (80HR WFR) COURSE.

FUNDING & SUPPORT

Outward Bound Canada is a not-for-profit, charitable educational organization.  Our goal is to increase Canadians’ ability to access Outward Bound Canada’s life changing programs.   While almost anyone can benefit from an Outward Bound course, we have seen that our programs can have an incredibly unique impact for those facing significant transitions in their lives and have developed unique, charitable programs including our Veterans Program, Women of Courage Program, Aboriginal Community Programs and Youth-At-Risk Programs.  Tuition from our certification courses do not directly support Outward Bound Canada and it’s special programs.  Therefore, if you would be interested in making an additional donation to support Outward Bound Canada and it’s charitable programs please click here for donation information.
