Celebrating Our Supporters on Gratitude Tuesday
As we celebrate #GratitudeTuesday, a global day that empowers positive change through the power of kindness and generosity, we are grateful to each and every one of our participants, alumni, volunteers, instructors, staff members, community partners and donors for their incredible support as we navigate together the uncertainty caused by the impacts of COVID-19.
Thank you for helping ensure that as Canada adapts and recovers, Outward Bound Canada can be there to help youth access empowering adventures in nature and develop the skills they need—including resilience, leadership, confidence, and social connectedness—to face an ever-changing world.
Zach, who was able to participate in one of our day camps in August thanks to our supporters, said this of his experience: “With the shutdown of both school and all extra-curricular activities, it’s been very difficult… Outward Bound was incredible – my biggest success was knowing that people just accepted me for me. I love the outdoors. It was fun to be physically active, learn new crafts, new canoe techniques, hike in beautiful locations and paddle – all here in my own backyard.”
We also want to acknowledge our generous corporate and foundation partners for their ongoing support in 2020 as Outward Bound Canada adapts to the impacts of COVID-19 and works to provide greater access to youth from all socio-economic backgrounds to our wilderness-based expeditions and urban adventure programs across the country.
