No prior camping or hiking experience is needed. Your journey begins when you meet your group in Canmore, Alberta before heading toward the campground where you will get ready for your adventure. You will have the opportunity to experience this UNESCO heritage location. As you embark on your journey, you will make your way on foot through the world-renowned Canadian Rockies.

In addition to the personal journey, you will also learn techniques for backpacking safely and effectively in the mountains, meal preparation, minimal-impact camping, navigation, and how to assess and avoid hazards. This course also includes a solo experience where you will prove your skills while being supervised by our experienced instructional team. Often described as the most transformative part of the experience, your solo experience will give you the chance to reflect on earlier conversations from the expedition, absorb important realizations about yourself, and leave behind anything that will no longer serve you going forward.
