At Outward Bound Canada, we want to empower girls to find their strength, be themselves, be honest, and celebrate who they are. We believe that we should encourage every girl to be active, be vocal, and be a leader! For that reason, we created this new course;, to impart that empowering feeling to girls by encouraging participants to discover their strength, confidence, kindness and resilience – their “True Grit.” We are passionate about inspiring females to be themselves, to own their power – to better connect to their own strengths and have more confidence in their own voice. Come and join us in this new adventure!

AREA & ACTIVITIES
No prior camping or hiking experience is needed. Your journey begins when you meet your group at the Calgary International Airport before heading toward the campground where you will get ready for your adventure. You will have the opportunity to experience this UNESCO heritage location. As you embark on your journey, you will make your way on foot through the world-renowned Canadian Rockies.
In addition to the personal journey, you will also learn techniques for backpacking safely and effectively in the mountains, meal preparation, minimal-impact camping, navigation, and how to assess and avoid hazards. This course also includes a possible solo experience where you will prove your skills while being supervised by our experienced instructional team. Often described as the most transformative part of the experience, your solo experience will give you the chance to reflect on earlier conversations from the expedition, absorb important realizations about yourself, and leave behind anything that will no longer serve you going forward.
