We created this course for women who realize that they are already strong, bold, and capable. Let us guide you to build meaningful relationships with other supportive women, and feel you are an important part of something bigger than yourself.
Space will be created for participants to engage in honest conversations, collaborating as a collective on topics such as barriers facing women in 2020 and common challenges which make females feel the need to prove themselves in society, while sharing ideas to overcome them, and building a support network. The course also offers a space to feel comfortable learning a new skill, backpacking, with a group of like-minded females in the world-renowned Canadian Rockies!
MAIN COURSE LEARNINGS:
- Build Your Support Team
- Empower Others to Lead
- Optimize Your Leadership Effectiveness
- Integrate Your Life
AREA AND ACTIVITIES
No prior camping or hiking experience is needed. Your journey begins when you meet your group in Canmore, Alberta, before heading toward the campground where you will get ready for your adventure.
As you embark on your journey, you will make your way on foot through the world-renowned Canadian Rockies.
In addition to the personal journey, you will also learn techniques for backpacking safely and effectively in the mountains, meal preparation, minimal-impact camping, navigation, and how to assess and avoid hazards. This course also includes a possible solo experience where you will prove your skills while being supervised by our experienced instructional team. Often described as the most transformative part of the experience, your solo experience will give you the chance to reflect on earlier conversations from the expedition, absorb important realizations about yourself, and leave behind anything that will no longer serve you going forward.
