This course helped me realize that I am capable of so much more than I think. I’m ready to take on whatever life has to throw at me.

- Participant

Outward Bound Canada offers a variety of outdoor adventure courses for youth, providing an inclusive and supportive environment for participants from diverse cultural, economic, and social backgrounds. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are able to provide a variety of funded opportunities for youth to participate in our courses. Scroll down for a list of our current opportunities.

The Outward Bound experience removes participants from their everyday environment and immerses them in an exciting outdoor adventure where they must draw on their individual strengths and work on a team to strive for success. Using experiential education to travel each day, camp each night, and cook their meals over a fire, this model provides them with the opportunity to reconnect with themselves, with others and with nature. In a supportive environment, young people can transform their attitudes, behaviours and beliefs, coming away with a renewed sense of their own potential and self-worth. Students can earn a high school credit on select programs. The experience is most successful when youth are highly motivated to participate and challenge themselves in this demanding environment.

Outward Bound Canada’s Youth Access Fund was created so that all youth, regardless of their financial situation, can access our life-transforming programs and realize their full potential. The Youth Access Fund acts as a subsidy that goes towards the tuition for most of our courses listed in our Course Finder

FUNDRAISE FOR YOUR COURSE

Because we get many applications and only have so many funds to distribute, we strongly recommend and encourage applicants to consider raising funds for their course on their own! Click here for a copy of our Fundraising Kit to help you get started.
