Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellation and Refund Policy

It’s important for you to understand your commitment to signing up for one of our courses and to understand our policy if, for any reason, you need to cancel. Outward Bound Canada’s Cancellation and Refund Policy reflects the reality that most program expenses (food, staffing, site permits, equipment, etc.) are incurred before the course begins, and participant cancellation impacts our program planning and implementation. If you need to cancel your registration, please contact the Admissions Department as soon as possible.

Once your application forms are submitted, and you have made a deposit payment (for individual programs), Outward Bound Canada will notify you when you are approved to participate. Once approved, you are considered committed to participating. At this time, we highly recommend that you purchase cancellation insurance (through your travel agent, bank, insurance provider or another source) to protect your course fees and any additional travel, gear or medical expenses that may arise before or during your course experience.

If you need to withdraw suddenly before the course starts or leave the course early due to changes in your medical history (medications or medical conditions) or other circumstances, you will be responsible for any additional costs incurred (for medical care or an evacuation or changes to travel bookings, etc.), so purchasing cancellation insurance will protect and reimburse you in these circumstances. If Outward Bound Canada has to cancel your course for any reason, we will offer to move your paid course fees to another program or a full refund.

We are aware that many insurance policies are not currently covering COVID-19 related claims. The pandemic has led us to offer more flexibility in our policy when it comes to these circumstances. If any Federal, Provincial or Municipal travel restrictions in the area where our courses operate will prevent you from attending your registered course, we will offer you to move your paid course fees to another program or provide a full refund. If you or a member of your household become ill with or are exposed to COVID-19 leading up to your course, please connect with us as soon as possible to make arrangements regarding your course registration – we will do our best to accommodate you or transfer any course fees to a future program.
