Toronto: Urban Wild Learn to Camp

Improve your campcraft skills for an adventurous summer!

Get ready for a unique adventure in your own urban backyard this summer! Join us at Don Valley Brick Works Park in Toronto to hone your campcraft skills so you’re ready for your next family camping trip or just to have fun in the great outdoors.

Whether it’s your first time or you have previous experience spending time in nature, you’ll participate in hands-on activities such as building a shelter, lighting a campfire and cooking outdoors, and learning new hiking techniques, and at the end of the week, put your newly learned skills to the test with an exciting high ropes challenge. You and your new friends will also have the opportunity to help out with a local conservation project that will give you a deeper insight into the ecological challenges of the region.

The program will take place from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (Monday through Friday) at the Don Valley Brick Works Park. Participants should bring their own lunch and be prepared to be outside all day. If needed, you can borrow our equipment, such as waterproof pants and hats.

And that’s not all: Every Wednesday night there’s an optional overnight as an introduction to camping!
